Abstraction and balance find a home on this heavy 11 x 6.5-inch paperweight, where rectangles of blue, purple, red and yellow float on the surface of a jet-black pool.
Cue Miles Davis' 1959 LP Kind of Blue, the coolest of cool jazz records. Pop the top on an Amstel and gaze into this 9 x 7-inch paperweight, a modernist mobile of reds, greens and oranges sitting atop a background of darkness and light.
Kaleidoscope: A 6 x 7.5-inch composition creating a recessed rectangle of colors -- a slash of garnet that bleeds over the side, a poached-egg patch of yellow on white, a stick of wraparound mint green, a carpenter's square of purplish-gray, an endless delight for the eyes, especially when in motion.
Amber Bliss: A translucent concave surface, 8.5 x 9.5, flecked with red and ambient pockets of air, dominated by a swash of green, a streak of scarlet and a hovering door of grey on black, leading to nowhere.
Like a modernist game of Mahjong, these ivory oblongs, triangles, squares and oddly shaped dice of white and pale green are thrown onto a 5 x 11-inch carpet of ceramic obsidian. The only winner? The spectator, the gazer of dreams.
