Designed to interact with light, this 9.5-inch shallow bowl is especially captivating when held to a window or displayed where light can filter through it. It is made with a single layer of clear 3mm glass with the design built on top of it.
The Spider's House: This deceptively heavy 7.5-inch bowl was created with 3 layers of glass - 2 layers of clear and one layer of streaky white, though it appears gray in photo. The glass was broken in order to add the wispy green filaments, marking the tracks of an unseen arachnid who left this exquisite art in its wake.
Pick up Sticks: For those drawn to the whimsical, this 9-inch concave artwork offers a playful exploration of color, form, and touch. Vibrant glass orbs are tack-fused to either end of slender glass rods, creating an intriguing balance of color and line. The irresistible tactile quality of the orbs invites interaction, making this a piece you’ll want to experience as much as admire.
What a difference colors make: You might not notice at first, but this 9.5-inch shallow bowl features the same pattern as the bowl at top left. Similarly, the colors are enhanced with light running through them. As with the other piece, it is made with a single layer of clear 3mm glass with the design crafted atop it.
Harvest of the Sea: Resembling an ocean-washed treasure found after a storm, this striking, 10 x 11-inch, one-of-a-kind artwork was created by layering specialty paints over a bubbled 6mm clear-glass base. During the firing process, the colors organically shifted and parted, revealing glimpses of the luminous, textured glass beneath.
